John Conlee and "Little" Jimmy Dickens Concert
Meeting Type: Everyone Welcome Phenix City, AL
Country music legends and Grand Ole Opry stars, John Conlee and "Little" Jimmy Dickens are putting on a show at the Phenix City Amphitheater, Sunday May 25th at 8 p.m. It's a benefit concert, but the beneficiaries are a secret until the night of the show. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Advance tickets can be purchased at any Sun Trust Bank or Action Buildings location. |

Columbus authorities have reported a recent rise in the number of "smash and grab" thefts in the region. These thefts have occurred in parking lots of restaurants, doctors' offices, gyms and shopping centers, among other locations. Many of these have occurred during the day.
Thieves appear to target vehicles containing valuables that are visible from outside the vehicle, such as purses and laptop computers. Thieves simply break out a vehicle’s window to grab the valuables.
Please take steps to protect yourself and avoid being a target of crime by removing items of value kept in your vehicle. Be sure to lock items out-of-sight in the trunk or take them with you when you leave the vehicle. Do not leave valuable items visible to passers-by.
A man who police said fled from officers Tuesday night was shot twice by a patrolman when he refused to obey his commands.

Challenger Little League, founded in 1989 and established for children and adults with disabilities, welcomes children and adults of all ages, disabilities, and surrounding areas. Challenger is continually growing, this year expanding to six teams, up from four teams the past 13 years.

Columbus Police today are investigating a death that may be the city's 16th murder of 2007, a death discovered early Tuesday morning in a residence at 901-A Decatur Court early.
